YOUR STORY
How Therapy Can Help
Whether seeking meaning or self-awareness, going through a challenging one-off situation or struggling with longer-term difficulties, when you've tried everything else, then talking to a professional can help. Fiona Murray Therapy was created to offer high-quality support to those who need it, when they need it, because even a single session can make a positive difference. This is particularly the case with EMDR, where research shows this is often the fastest way to recover from trauma. Registered and accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy , meeting their higher standards for professional, safe and effective support, you will be given the space you need to identify and achieve your way forward. Pluralistic counselling means we collaborate to find the best way forward and you can choose in person, online, telephone or 'Walk and Talk' sessions. Further training with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy shows you new ways to cope with and transcend issues that are causing you distress. Together we can overcome stubborn blocks to change! With specialist expertise in supporting those living with neurodiversity such as highly gifted, dyslexia, ASD, ADHD, high sensitivity etc. and acquired neurological differences such as dementia and functional neurological disorders you will finally feel understood !
A PERSON-CENTRED APPROACH
Support That Makes a Difference
A person-centred approach is all about you. Your goals, your dreams, your pace. No judgement, just plenty of time and space to find out who you are now, who you want to be and how you want to get there.
Working together in a way that offers you a chance to find your own way forward without feeling that there is something wrong with you or something that needs fixing.
The use of coaching/consultancy models, biography work, and clinical hypnosis can also support your journey towards your best possible life. You can work in whatever way you find most useful.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Some of the areas commonly supported include:
-
Anxiety and stress
-
Trauma and difficult past experiences
-
Neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD and highly sensitive people)
-
Functional neurological symptoms
-
Identity and self-understanding
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Life transitions
-
Burnout and overwhelm
-
Low mood or loss of direction

PSYCHOTHERAPY
Do you feel like you are always trying to cope with things getting on top of you but nothing you try seems to work for long ?
Are you worried about a friend or a family member?
Noticing repeating patterns in your life ?
Psychotherapy allows you to explore changes which could really make a difference, at your own pace and in a safe, confidential space.

COACHING
Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond.
In a coaching session, you can learn about existing strengths and how new tools give you the power of choice over whatever life brings.

SUPERVISION
Alongside my therapy work, I also offer clinical supervision for counsellors and therapists.
I will be starting a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision at the University of Aberdeen and welcome enquiries from counsellors seeking supportive reflective supervision, including trainees looking for low-cost or placement supervision opportunities.

We all have the potential to live a joy-filled life
